The reproduction records are pressed at 78 RPM on a restored 1947 press operating at 6 tons of hydraulic pressure through two heating platens that heat the shellac compound charge from room temperature to 145 degrees Celsius in 45 seconds, hold at temperature for 30 seconds for full compound flow and pit replication, then cool under pressure at 12 degrees per second to below 70 degrees before disc extraction.
